BMW Announces Performance-Centered X2 M35i

BMW brought yet another compelling model to its lineup of sport activity vehicles earlier this year with the 2019 X2. The sleek, versatile premium SAV turned heads in the automotive industry. With only a few months under its belt, the X2 is already getting an exciting update.

A new power train will make its way into the X2 later this year, according to BMW. The new X2 M35i will offer more power and a reworked chassis, giving drivers a more exciting and performance-oriented driving experience. Here are a few highlights in the new model:

Powerful TwinPower Turbo Engine: BMW claims the new X2 M35i will have the most powerful TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder in the company's history. The 2.0-liter powerplant will produce 302 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

Launch Control: A new front-axle limited-slip differential means the X2 M35i gives exceptional control over acceleration. The launch control function allows drivers to get a robust jump from the starting line.

xDrive All-Wheel Drive: Standard xDrive allows power to reach all four wheels.

Robust Acceleration: The result of these features is a small SAV with impressive acceleration. The X2 M35i can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.

The new X2 M35i is slated to start production in November of 2018.
