BMW Reveals New 2021 330e Plug-In Hybrid Model

BMW opens a new door for its popular 3 Series models with the BMW 330e Plug-In Hybrid.

The BMW 3 Series has been a benchmark for luxury sport sedan design for more than three decades, continuously improving on its legendary balance of power, handling, and refinement. Now, after, multiple generations of 3 Series models, BMW is taking its iconic model into new territory.

BMW is no stranger to hybrid technology -- its i8 hybrid sports car turned heads and impressed critics upon its debut several years ago. Now, that technology is finding its way into more well-established models like the 2021 330e Plug-In Hybrid.

The 2021 BMW 330e Plug-In Hybrid literally electrifies the brand's popular sport sedan. It's a bold move that aims to maximize both power and efficiency while modernizing a famous nameplate.

An eight-speed ZF transmission transfers power to the wheels.


Because of its twin-motor design, the new BMW 330e Plug-In Hybrid offers versatile performance. For daily commuting, you'll find that the model is quiet, composed, and efficient. When the gasoline and electric powertrains work together, the 330e is rated at up to 71 MPGe. Engage electric drive mode and you can move silently with 20 miles of range and zero emissions.

The 330e Plug-In Hybrid can also reward those who prefer more vigorous driving scenarios around Farmington Hills and Canton, MI. Mash the accelerator and the 330e can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds.


Plug-in hybrid technology is one of the major advantages of this new model. You'll get an air-cooled 12.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that gives the 330e electric-only capability. You can plug in the battery pack to charge with a 120-watt wall socket or at public charging stations. Keeping the battery charged gives you the ability to access the model's zero-emissions capabilities.
