What's New for 2023?

The new i4 offers a new entry-level model and a lower starting price, making it more affordable for drivers to enjoy its high-end driving experience. The entry-level model and lower starting price could be just what you need to afford a new i4 comfortably. The entry-level i4 eDrive35 provides exciting acceleration that is only a hair slower than the i4 eDrive40 while also offering many upscale amenities and features standard.

Performance

The new i4 lives up to the expectations set by the brand for thrilling driving dynamics while providing a unique all-electric performance. Three powertrain options are available, depending on your model choice. Regardless of your choice, you can expect thrilling acceleration with instant thrust since nearly 100 percent of the available torque is on tap. The i4 eDrive35 and i4 eDrive40 offer standard rear-wheel drive for near-perfect weight distribution and responsive handling.

The three powertrain options include:

• BMW i4 eDrive35: This model comes with one electric motor controlling the rear wheels, delivering 281 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. You can also expect a BMW-estimated 260 miles of range and a 0-60-MPH of 5.8 seconds.
• BMW i4 eDrive40: For even more power, the i4 eDrive40 also uses a single electric motor and a rear-wheel-drive setup but provides 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. This model offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 301 miles and a 0-60-MPH of 5.5 seconds.
• BMW i4 M50: You can enjoy a high-performance-inspired driving experience while driving electric with the i4 M50. This model includes two electric motors and an electronic form of all-wheel drive for more power and control. You can enjoy an exhilarating performance with up to 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque. It's possible to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds.

Not only will you find powerful yet efficient powertrains, but you can count on highly sophisticated performance features and technologies to improve your driving experience. Selectable driving modes provide distinct characteristics and even dedicated soundtracks. The Eco Pro is quiet, Comfort provides subtle whooshing, and the Sport provides a jet-like noise that grows in volume and pitch to match your speed.

All i4 models have excellent weight distribution, with their batteries set below the floor for a low center of gravity and exceptional handling. With a sport-tuned adaptive suspension, the i4 M50 takes ride comfort and responsiveness to a new level.

Charging

The new i4 uses various features and methods to ensure plenty of charge for your travels. Each model comes with a Flexible Fast Charging Cable for replenishing your battery. The DC Fast charging capability lets you recharge the battery from 10 to 80 percent with a DC fast charger in about 32 minutes. You can also recharge the battery at home with a 240-volt charger in approximately eight hours, making it easy to charge your i4 overnight.
